Pastor Jonathan R. Cooper is the pastor of Solid Rock Fellowship Church of God in Christ where he serves tirelessly and faithfully with much joy and enthusiasm. Pastor Cooper has a great passion for God's people and for the up building of God's Kingdom. Pastor Cooper has been saved for 36 years. Pastor Cooper is a hardworking man of Excellence, Integrity, and Vision. He was born and raised in Fayetteville, Georgia. He was educated in the Fayette County School System where he graduated from Fayette County High School in 1988. He went on to technical college where he studied to be an electrician (receiving his low voltage license). He was employed by Delta Air Lines in 1990 and has worked there for the last 35 years in various capacities including maintenance utility, mechanic helper, technician, lead technician, and currently duty manager for the past 5 years. Pastor Cooper holds a certificate in Pastoral Counseling, an Associate's in Ministry, and he is currently enrolled in Restoration Theological Seminary working on his Bachelor of Theology degree.

In August of 1988, Pastor Cooper was saved and received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Soon after, he joined the Griffin Church of God in Christ where he later served as a deacon for two years. Then, in 1990, he accepted the call into the ministry. He was licensed and ordained an elder by Bishop John W. Cooper.

In 2005, Pastor Cooper came under the leadership of the late Pastor Charlie J. Barkley of Turin Church of God in Christ in Turin, Georgia. While serving faithfully at Turin, Elder Cooper was appointed administrative assistant and then assistant pastor. While assistant pastor, he also served as the adult Sunday School teacher and later Sunday School Superintendent for several years. In December 2013, Elder Cooper was asked by District Superintendent Woodrow Pinson to assume the pastorate of Green Valley Church of God in Christ. After much prayer, he accepted this invitation and remained Pastor of Green Valley for 3 years until he returned to Turin COGIC where he once again served as Assistant Pastor. In 2020, due to illness, Pastor Johnny Terrell asked Elder Cooper to come to his
church Divine Love and to assume the role of Pastor which Elder Cooper graciously did for six months while still serving as Assistant Pastor at Turin. After the sudden transition of Pastor Barkley, Bishop Norman O. Harper appointed Elder Cooper as Pastor of Turin Church of God in Christ.

Because Turin Church of God in Christ had burned down a few months before the passing of Pastor Barkley, Pastor Cooper led the mission of finding a new property/rebuilding. As such, Pastor Cooper and the members of Turin acquired a new property and a new church building in Newnan, GA and renamed the new church Solid Rock Fellowship.

For 35 years he has been proclaiming the gospel. Pastor Jonathan Cooper has an unquestionable mandate on his life, and has been walking in that anointing by working faithfully these years in the vineyard. As the Pastor of Solid Rock Fellowship, Pastor Cooper believes in “Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a dying world so that men and women may be saved”. His motto is John 9:4(a) “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day.”

Pastor Cooper is also a loving husband and devoted father. It was in 1991, that Pastor Cooper was blessed to marry his childhood sweetheart, Evangelist Errica Cooper who labors by his side. They have been married for 32 years. To their union was born son Justin (28), daughter Jessica (27), and son Jordan (20).
